Congress highlights

 

We will do our best to set up an interesting program focusing on up-to-date care in the bariatric and metabolic fields. Apart from the traditional paper and video sessions, specific plenary sessions dealing with hot topics will be organized in different forms (presentations, debates, face-to-face, round table). The program will particularly focus on the following topics:

  • Surgical technique in laparoscopic bariatric surgery
  • Malabsorptive procedures and their current role
  • Hormonal mechanisms in bariatric surgery
  • Allied health
  • Metabolic surgery
  • Restrictive surgery. How does the future look?
  • Long-term results in bariatric surgery
  • Role of bariatric operations in low BMI patients
  • New technology – robotics and NOTES
  • Morbidity of bariatric surgery
  • Long-term complications – surgical and nutritional
  • Insufficient weight loss after bariatric surgery

Meeting of the IFSO-EC general council and general assembly

 

The executive council of the IFSO-EC will meet on Thursday April 22nd at 1.00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

The general council of the IFSO-EC will on Friday April 23rd at 1.00 pm. Lunch will be provided.

The General assembly of the IFSO-EC will take place in the theatre on Friday April 23rd at 6.00 pm.

 

Oral and video presentations

 

Full presentations: 7 minutes will be allowed for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion

Brief presentations: 5 minutes will be allowed for presentation and 2 minutes for discussion

Video presentations: 7 minutes will be allowed for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion

 

Poster presentations

 

The posters will be displayed in the hall in front of the main conference room in order to provide good exposure and invite everybody to visit the exhibition. 

Authors of posters are kindly requested to prepare their poster according to the following rules:

  • Posters will be displayed vertically
  • Poster size will be communicated to presenters
  • Posters should be hung on Thursday April 22nd between 7.30 am and 10.30 am. 
  • Authors are invited to attend their posters during coffee breaks in order to facilitate discussion

Authors are requested to remove their posters at the end of the congress. Posters left in the exhibition hall will not be returned to their owner

 

Audiovisual equipment and AV centre

 

The conference rooms (Theatre and Innsbruck) will be equipped with video projectors and PC for Power-Point presentations. The AV centre will be located in the Room 523 Mexico on first floor. Six laptops and 4 technicians will be available for presenters. Speakers are requested to deliver their presentation and check for compatibility with the AV technicians at least 2 hours before their presentation. The AV centre will open on Thursday April 22nd at 7.30 am.

 

Internet corner

 

 

An internet corner will be available for all delegates during the entire duration of the congress, and will be located in the lounge area
